A Blessed Hanuman Swami Darshan
Near my home in Kowdiar there is a famous Hanuman temple located at Palayam opposite to the stadium, a place we often visited whenever time permitted. This temple was well known for its offerings of vada mala and vettila mala (garlands made of betel leaves). On one such visit, I too purchased a vettila mala and reverently placed it at entrance of the Sreekovil of Hanuman Swami.
The temple was quite popular, often frequented by celebrities and well-known personalities, most of them carrying similar garlands to offer Sri Hanuman Swami and will place at the sanctum. As I prayed silently, noticed that while other garlands were taken inside, mine was left untouched. Minutes passed, yet mine was not accepted. Hurt and saddened, I prayed in silence, questioning why this discrimination occurred. Deep within, I felt, “If Hanuman Swami wills it, He can surely make it happen through the poojari.” With this anguish, I left the temple and even vowed not to return again as our simple offerings are not accepted.
For me, every temple is a place where I see only my Sai in different forms. Yet, in this Hanuman temple, I specifically prayed to Him as Hanuman Swami, Swami often remarked about Hanuman Swami’s Devotion in His speeches.
The Day passed, and in the busyness of life, I forgot the incident. Next day early morning, between 3:30 and 4:00 am, Hanuman Swami blessed me with a divine dream. He appeared before me, standing so tall that His form stretched beyond the sky, beyond what my eyes could reach. At His feet, I felt like a tiny speck. Suddenly, He smiled and dropped a piece of coconut from that unimaginable height—as prasadam just for me.
In that moment, His majestic form became clear. He was radiant, entirely white like pure ghee or milk, with long flowing hair, strong and tall, His face elongated and serene, glowing with compassion. As the coconut piece descended slowly down towards me, His complete divine form from head to toe was visible along its trajectory. He had granted me a full Divine darshan of His form. A full vision, Poorna Roopam, of His divine body which was glowing and reflecting the light of a 1000-watt Bulb.
The sorrow of my earlier experience instantly vanished. What I thought was neglect of a small offering, He transformed into a priceless blessing by granting me His enchanting and captivating darshan. My heart overflowed with joy. Truly, no prayer offered from the depths of a devotee’s heart goes unheard. To the Lord, there are no small or big devotees. Our Sai alone makes these divine interventions possible, out of His boundless compassion.
The scriptures and saints, including great souls like Sivangini Amma, describe Hanuman Swami’s darshan as a vision that comes at the final moment of one’s life, when He arrives to receive the soul. Yet, by Baba’s grace, what I received was not such an end, but a full Sampoorna darshan, a divine assurance and blessing in this very lifetime. A TRUE BLESSING FOR BEING A SAI DEVOTEE
