This incident was narrated to the Author by a well-known NRI businessman who once accompanied an eminent Arab businessman during their visit to the Super Specialty Hospital in Bangalore. (The author himself was present at this visit.)
Our family had gone to Brindavan for Swami’s Darshan and was staying at my brother’s quarters, which had been allotted by the Whitefield Super Specialty Hospital. That morning, Mr. Krishna Kumar, the General Manager of the hospital, informed my brother that some distinguished guests from the UAE would be visiting. Since I was also working in the UAE at the time, I was invited to join them.
Mr. Krishna Kumar and his team received the delegation warmly and escorted them to the conference room. I too was seated among them. I have recognized one of the guests immediately—Mr. B. R. Shetty, one of the most prominent Indian business leaders in the UAE. Alongside him was an Arab gentleman whom Mr. Shetty introduced as a leading businessman closely associated with Abu Dhabi’s royal circles. His face radiated freshness and awe, he seemed deeply touched by the spiritual ambience of Whitefield.
It was clear from the deference Mr. Shetty showed that this visitor was a highly regarded personality. Mr. Shetty himself was a business tycoon whose business interests spread across many Nations at that time. Mr. Shetty himself began narrating an extraordinary story connected to this guest.
Some weeks earlier, while on a business trip to Germany, Mr. Shetty had received an urgent call from a senior member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family. He was requested to return immediately to discuss an important matter. Without delay, Mr. Shetty chartered a flight and flew back to Abu Dhabi, where he was told the following account.
The Arab guest, while resting in his palatial bungalow, suddenly awoke to find a radiant figure standing in his room. Shocked and frightened, he wondered how anyone could have bypassed such strict security and entered his private chambers unnoticed. As a devout Muslim, his first thought was that it must be some jinn or spirit (common in Arabian folklores) as fear was gripping him.
Instead of menace, the figure exuded peace and reassurance which was a total surprise to the fear-stricken gentleman. Calmness and Peace were surrounding him. With a gentle wave of the hand, THE FIGURE Offered Comfort and some kind of an assurance of joy. Though bewildered, the Genteman started feeling that the aura is holy as the light spread there was unusually joyful and soothing. The figure was giving some gestures of invitation and Assurances. Before he could comprehend further, the figure vanished, leaving him shaken and confused.
Disturbed, he immediately called his royal relatives and described the encounter in every detail. He was sure that the whole experience was Holy. His relatives were equally astonished and, recognizing its gravity, contacted Mr. Shetty known for his devotion to Sri Sathya Sai Baba to help interpret the experience. Mr. Shetty was known for his spiritual inclinations among the community there.
On hearing the details, Mr. Shetty was stunned, for the description matched none other than Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Himself. He further explained that this divine intervention was likely a response to the Arab guest’s fervent prayers. The man had been suffering from cancer, and despite the best treatment money could afford, the disease was not abating. He had tried all possible treatment available in renowned hospitals; no cure was foreseen. In his desperation, he had turned wholeheartedly to God for help. And God had answered, in the form of Swami.
Soon after, the group decided to come to India. As Swami was in Whitefield at that time, they visited the Super specialty hospital before attending Darshan.
Later that day, I saw the Arab gentleman sitting quietly in a chair, awaiting his first glimpse of Bhagawan. Tears streamed down his face; his features flushed with emotion. One could visibly sense the transformation in him, the burden of grief lifted away, replaced by profound peace and joy. Divine grace was clearly at work. What disease could do to One whom God Himself had chosen to heal, overriding even the weight of past karma?
All of us present were moved to tears. It was overwhelming to realize that Swami had given a direct Darshan to a man far away in the UAE—someone who had never known any faith outside of Islam. When he prayed sincerely to Allah, the Compassionate Lord answered his call in the form of Sai, curing and blessing him.
Indeed, His ways are mysterious. His love knows no boundaries of religion, race, or place. Swami’s message resounded that day: Love is His form, and Miracles are His visiting cards.
